Seafoam Green for Interior Painting, is It Really Still "In"?

If you’re like most people, you’ve heard the color named, "Seafoam Green" throughout your lifetime. No matter your age, you’re likely to have owned many things over the years that were seafoam green.

The term used to describe this spectrum of the color green has been around a long time. Today, you can find that seafoam is still very popular.

There are seafoam green Nike and Jordan shoes, seafoam green outboard motors and marine equipment, seafoam green beauty bars, dresses, and jewelry, seafoam green hair colors, furniture, small kitchen appliances, and more. To say the color seafoam green is still “in” would be a gross understatement!

According to one online dictionary, the color seafoam green is defined as a pale yellow green that is yellower, lighter, and stronger than smoke gray, yellower and slightly lighter and stronger than oyster gray, and yellower and paler than average Nile. Now, can you envision that? Neither can we really.

Describing a color in words is at best only vaguely going to bring you to imagine what it really looks like. For seafoam green, it’s not that difficult because the color is truly reminiscent of sea foam. The difference can come with exactly which ocean your looking at though, because the colors of the oceans vary in different climates and depths and depending on lighting, color can seem to go darker or lighter -or the true color can even be tinted with the pink or yellow of a setting sun.

There are many shades of green that are beautiful when used in decorating your home. Most green shades were named after natural elements, such as fruits, veggies, trees, plants, gemstones, insects, and more. Here are a few:

  • Artichoke Green
  • Asparagus Green
  • Avocado Green
  • Fern Green
  • Forest Green
  • Hooker’s Green
  • Football Field Green
  • Jungle Green
  • Laurel Green

  • Dark Green
  • Mantis Green
  • Moss Green
  • Myrtle Green
  • Mint Green

As you can see, green can be a number of shades, hues, and tones. Seafoam green is a softer version of green that is soothing and calming whether it’s lighter or darker in shade. It makes a wonderful color in the bathroom area, bringing it cooling comfort.
