What to expect

  • Your quote will take approximately 1 hour, or more depending on how much work is required.
  • With your estimator you will view and explain the various areas you require work.
  • We will ask questions about the amount of preparation you require.
  • We will ask questions about the quality and brand of paint you prefer and/ or make suggestions.
  • Your desires and our experience will create the basis of you quote.
  • A detailed written quote will be provided on the spot – in most cases.
  • We will give you the opportunity to schedule your project on the spot.
We look forward to meeting with you.

Before we arrive

  • All drapery should be removed to prevent improper creases etc. Furniture, if possible, should be removed from areas affected or moved to the center of the room. All pictures should be removed and hooks removed where you would like them patched. If you like, we can visit prior to the start date to make a PLAN.
  • We start work early so we can leave before the dinner hour. 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM are our normal start times, which allows our painters to leave by 4:30 PM.
  • Our lead painter will discuss the project with you and determine your priorities and the most logical and efficient manor to proceed.
  • We may ask that rooms be set-up prior to application. This will facilitate patching and repair and allow smooth flow of the stages.
  • We require a location to set-up tools and supplies. The garage, basement or lesser-used room may be suitable.
  • Please recommend the best location to clean all painting tools. Latex paints are suitable for water clean-up (a steel sink or washtub if you have is ideal.)
  • All areas to receive finish today will be sheeted with plastic. Floors covered with drop sheets, masking and plastering to proceed.
  • We will vacuum all areas of dust produced from sanding patches. All areas to receive a paint coating will be sanded prior to application. This will create airborne dust (fine) that may settle during the work in progress.
  • At the project completion we will place your remaining paint in a location convenient to you. Please consider where that may be.
  • Convenient and large labels on your paint cans identify location and colour of your finishes. For future touch-up or re-order these are a time saver and exclusive to Colour Scheme Professionals Inc.
  • In order to ensure that no detail is overlooked, please allow 15 minutes at the end of the job to walk through all the rooms with our painter. You may ask to schedule this "walk through" at a time at or close to the end of the project. Our lead painters are required to have a sheet signed by you indicating the walk through was completed.
  • Should any changes to the work occur during the project, our painters have a change order sheet that you may sign to authorize additional work. You may agree to hourly or a fixed price with materials added. This is required to proceed.
  • At the completion of the project, please leave payment as per our proposal with our lead painter. Any extra work will be billed to you from the office.
Finally, enjoy!
